How It Works

  1. Step 1

    Add the PDF

Open a PDF on this device, or drop it on the page. It stays in the browser while you set the watermark. Nothing is uploaded.

  2. Step 2

Set the stamp and the pages

Choose text or an image. Set the size, opacity, rotation, and position. Image width runs from a small dot at 1% to the full page at 100%. All pages is the default.

  3. Step 3

    Download the new PDF

Add the watermark when you are ready. The download is a separate file, with the stamp drawn on top of the page.

Why Choose this tool?

  • On this device

The PDF stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to EduTips, and we do not keep a copy.

  • See it first

The preview shows the stamp, its size, opacity, rotation, and placement before you download.

  • Free

No account. Download a new PDF on this device. The file you opened stays unchanged.

When to Use a PDF Watermark

  • Mark a draft before you share it

Put DRAFT across a worksheet or an application so a reader can see it is not the final copy.

  • Stamp a logo on class notes

Add a short line of text, or a PNG, JPEG, or WebP, in a corner or on the pages you choose.

  • Keep the original file

The download is a new PDF. The file you opened is not overwritten.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF and the image stay in this browser. They are not uploaded.

Does the watermark protect the PDF?

No. The watermark is a visible stamp on top of the page. The downloaded PDF is the file that matters. It does not stop someone from copying the text. A signed PDF, or one that still has a password, may not come through unchanged.

Can I use a logo?

Yes. Choose Image, then add a PNG, JPEG, or WebP from this device. A transparent PNG keeps its clear background. The image is not uploaded.

Which fonts can I use?

Helvetica, Times, and Courier, with an optional bold style. If a character is not in that font, the page tells you and does not draw a substitute.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. All pages is the default. Choose Page range and enter a start and end. Page numbers start at 1, and the end page cannot be past the last page.

How large a PDF can I use?

Up to 15 MB and 200 pages. A password-protected PDF has to be unlocked before this tool can read it.

Will my original file change?

No. You download a new PDF. The file you opened stays as it was.
