How It Works

  1. Step 1

    Add the photo

Open a JPEG, PNG, or WebP on this device. The file stays on screen. Nothing is uploaded.

  2. Step 2

    Crop and set the size

Keep the part you want, then type the pixel size. Rotate or flip if the photo is sideways.

  3. Step 3

    Download JPG or PNG

JPG is usually smaller for photos. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency. An optional target size is a best-effort maximum for JPG.

Why Choose this tool?

  • On this device

The photo stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to EduTips, and we do not keep a copy.

  • Exact size

Set the width and height in pixels. Lock them to the crop so the picture does not stretch.

  • Crop without an account

Free, 1:1, 4:3, or 16:9 on the photo. Rotate or flip, then download JPG or PNG.

When to Use a Passport Photo Maker

  • A passport or visa photo

Crop the face, set the pixel size the form asks for, and download a JPG or PNG.

  • A form with a file-size cap

Download JPG and enter a target in KB. If the file cannot fit, the tool says so instead of guessing.

  • A square or 16:9 crop

Lock the crop to 1:1, 4:3, or 16:9, then download the result at the pixels you type.

  • A sideways phone photo

Rotate 90° or flip, keep the same crop, and download a JPG or PNG.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The file stays on your device. Crop, resize, rotate, and download all run in the browser.

What is the difference between crop and width and height?

Crop chooses which part of the picture to keep. Width and height set how large that part is in the downloaded file. The line under the photo shows both.

Should I download JPG or PNG?

JPG is usually smaller for photographs. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparent pixels. JPG fills transparent pixels with white. They are not the same file.

What happens to transparent pixels?

PNG keeps them. JPG fills them with white. There is no background color picker.

Will the target size always match?

No. The target is a best-effort maximum for JPG. PNG cannot aim for a file size. If the image stays too large at your pixels, the tool explains that and can offer a smaller size if you allow it.

How is this different from Exam Photo Resizer?

Exam Photo Resizer is for SSC, NEET, WBJEE, and WBPSC photograph sizes. Passport Photo Maker is for a passport or visa crop and exact pixels.
